“Quality” in this context means that the target text meets the specified requirements. To ensure the target text’s fitness for purpose, I can help you draw up specifications. Typically these include the intention of the text (motivation – for example to make a purchase –, information, description, instruction), the target readership (experts, laypeople, native or non-native speakers), the target country (use of culture-specific, or regional expressions, standards, etc.), the use of company-specific terminology, and presentation. Meeting agreed deadlines is also a key element of quality.
